Introduction

This guide will walk you through setting up Bundles in ChannelGrabber.

A Bundle is designed for products that can be sold individually or combined together as a kit. The purpose of a Bundle in ChannelGrabber is to link these individual products together for stock management purposes, so that when the individual item sells, the Bundle stock level also updates and when a Bundle sells, all component product stock levels update too.

There are two types of Bundle:

  • a simple bundle, where your customer will only see one option on the listing, but ChannelGrabber will know that it is a bundle

  • a variation bundle, where your customer will see multiple options to choose from on the listing, and each variation is a separate bundle

This guide deals with simple bundles.  Please see separate guide for variation bundles.

Important Note

The individual products that form the Bundle must already exist in ChannelGrabber with their own unique SKU, even if they are not active listings, before they can be added into a Bundle.

Creating A Simple Bundle

1.      Select products to make up a simple bundle

In your main Products page, you will see a tick box next to each product.  For simple Bundles, simply go through and tick each single product that will be part of the Bundle:

2.      Tell ChannelGrabber to Bundle these products

After you have ticked all the relevant products, go to the Bulk drop down menu at the top of the page and select “Bundle Products” then click “Go”:

3.      Assign a new Bundle identity

(a)  A box will pop up to allow you to assign a new SKU and Title to the Bundle.  Make sure these are totally unique, then click “Create Bundle”:

(b)  The Bundle product will immediately appear on your main Products page, with a “B” on the left to show that it is a Bundle item, and the quantity of the Bundle will be defined by the lowest quantity available of the component products:

4.      Create the Bundle listing

The majority of the listing process is the same for a Bundle as is it for a standard product, so you click on the Product Name to access the product information and complete the General, Images and Listings tabs as normal.  In addition to the usual tabs on the left, there will be a “Child Products” tab.  Click on this and it will show you all the products that you have added to the Bundle, along with the quantity that are in the Bundle.  This quantity will default to “1” but you can amend this depending on how many of each component product is in the Bundle.  This completes the set up of the Bundle.

In the example here, there is one dining table with four chairs to make up this Bundle:

5.      Submit the Bundle listing

When your Bundle is complete, you can follow the usual listing process.  The Bundle will look no different than a normal listing to your customers once it is listed on your channels, but the stock will be linked to the stock of the component products in ChannelGrabber.  This means that when a Bundle is ordered, the stock of each of the component products will be updated and in the same way, when one of the component products is ordered, this will update the quantity available of the Bundle.

Important Note

If a component product runs out of stock, or there is less stock available than is needed to make up the Bundle, then the Bundle listing will show as out of stock and the listing will be paused or ended on your channels to reduce the risk of overselling.  When a component product is re-stocked in ChannelGrabber, this will automatically update the Bundle stock.

Converting an Existing (Single) Product into a Bundle

Important Note

It is important to note that if you have already listed Bundles on your channels and ChannelGrabber has imported those listings, the system will not automatically know which component products the Bundle is made up from.  This means you will need to convert the existing products to Bundles in ChannelGrabber in order for them to be correctly linked to the component product stock levels.

It is only possible to convert a single item into a single Bundle.  It is not possible to convert a variation product into a variation bundle in this same way.

1.      Make sure that the component products exist first

The individual products that form the Bundle must already exist in ChannelGrabber with their own unique SKU, even if they are not active listings, before they can be added into a Bundle:

2.      Locate the existing listing that has been imported and select it

Find the imported product and click into the tick box to the left of the SKU to select it:

3.      Convert the product into a Bundle

(a) From the Bulk drop-down menu at the top left of the page, choose “Convert Product to Bundle" then click “Go”:

(b) A pop up warning will appear to confirm that you want to convert the product to a Bundle.  Click “OK”:

(c) You will see that the product has been successfully converted to a Bundle when the “B” symbol appears to the left of the tick box and SKU:

4.      Add the component products

a)      Click onto the Product Name to open the product and you will see a new tab for “Child Products” has been added on the left (in addition to the usual General, Images and Listings tabs).  Click onto the Child Products tab:

b)      In the search bar, search for the master product SKU or title to locate the component product then click “Go”:

c)       Any products that match the SKU or title you have typed will appear for you to choose from.  Find the product(s) you want to add to the bundle, then click the ADD button next to them:

d)      Once you have clicked “Add”, the component product(s) will appear beneath in the “Child Products” list.  Repeat the previous step for any other component products that will be in the Bundle.  You can then specify how many of the component product will be required to make up the bundle using the Quantity field:

Once you have all the component products listed as part of the bundle with the relevant quantities then you are finished.  The existing listing will remain the same, so you don’t need to revise the listing, but when you return to your main Product page, you will see that the converted Bundle will now have its stock levels linked to the component product stock levels.  This will be updated accurately from now on, so whenever the Bundle sells, the component stock levels will update, and whenever a component product sells, the Bundle quantity will update.
