ChannelGrabber has a Data Exchange feature, which allows products and listings to be created and revised in bulk using spreadsheets instead of manually entering and amending information in ChannelGrabber.

Important Note

The Data Exchange can be used to create new single products and variation products within ChannelGrabber and also to list these products out to eBay from one file.  However, it is not possible to list variation items, or items that do not yet exist/have an existing ASIN to Amazon or other channels such as Play or webstores.   This guide focuses on listing to Amazon using ASINs to match your products with existing items on Amazon.  This can only be done for single items (not variation products, which would need to be listed manually from ChannelGrabber).

1.  Please use this link to download the Amazon ASIN Listing Template (open the Google Sheet then click on "File > Download As" and choose what format you want to download it to your computer in) which we recommend you use to ensure that all the necessary fields are populated in the correct format.

2.  Here is a guide to what each column can contain (* indicates a compulsory field):

 SKU*
The SKU of your item. This always needs to be entered, whether you are creating a new product in ChannelGrabber or adding an Amazon listing to an existing product

Title
This doesn't get sent to Amazon - Only enter a title if the product doesn't exist on your products page in ChannelGrabber at the moment

Quantity
Only enter a quantity if the product doesn't exist on your products page in ChannelGrabber at the moment, otherwise your stock level will be changed to this number when you import your file

Account ID*
This is a four-digit number within ChannelGrabber to identify your account – you can export an existing Amazon listing from your account via Data Exchange to find the Account ID

Amazon Profile Name
An internal label for the listing profile in ChannelGrabber eg. "Amazon UK" - not compulsory, the system will use "default" if left blank.

Selection*
Please simply leave this at zero for every product

ASIN*
The ASIN code you find on the existing Amazon listing for the product you want to list against

Condition*
New, Like New, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, Refurbished etc. Please see https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=3149161 for the full list for each category

Condition Note*
A more detailed description of the condition

Price*
Your price for the item (automatically sent in local currency, so 14.99 on UK site would be £14.99 (GBP), on EU site would be €14.99 (Euro), on US site would be $14.99 (USD) etc.)

Handling Time
The number of days you take to dispatch an order from when it is placed - not compulsory, the system will use "0" as default if left blank (same day dispatch).

Your spreadsheet should look similar to this:

3.  Once you have completed as much detail as you can in the spreadsheet, you need to save it in CSV (Comma delimited) format – this is crucial, as ChannelGrabber will not be able to process any files that are not in CSV format.  If you use an Apple Mac, you should use the CSV (Windows format) option.  Please avoid the use of full stops in the filename:

4.  a)  You can now import the data into ChannelGrabber to create the products.  In ChannelGrabber, hover over the main Products button in the top navigation bar, then select Data Exchange from the sub-menu:

b)  Once in the Data Exchange, click on the Listings tab on the right which will bring you to the Imports page:

5.  Click on Choose File to browse your computer for the CSV file you just saved, then click the Upload button to bring it into ChannelGrabber:

6.  Once your file is uploaded, additional fields will appear, which are for data mapping.  The left hand drop-down menu shows all the column headers from your file and the right hand drop-down menu allows you to map your file header to the corresponding field in ChannelGrabber.  This is how ChannelGrabber knows which fields to populate from your data:

Click on the Add Row button to create as many rows are you need, then map all the headers in your file to the corresponding fields in ChannelGrabber.  The order doesn’t particularly matter, but you may find it helpful to use the same order as in your file, or you can go through alphabetically, it’s up to you:

7.  Once you have set up all the product data mapping, you can save this as a template to avoid having to repeat this process in future.  On the right side of the page, click the Template button, then name and save your template.  In future, you will be able to click on the Load drop-down menu to load the template you just saved:

8.  Once you have completed your data mapping and saved your template, you are ready to let ChannelGrabber process your data file.  Click the Generate button and ChannelGrabber will start processing your data.  A progress box will appear at the top of the page to show you the total number of rows to be processed and will show how many successful rows have been processed as it goes along:

9.  Once the Data Exchange has finished processing your file, you can return to your main Products page and view the products that have been created and/or listed:

Amazon only collects data from ChannelGrabber every 15 minutes or so, which means that initially you will see a Pending status (Amber traffic light) on the listings in ChannelGrabber.  After 15 minutes, if the listings have gone through successfully to Amazon, they will be marked with the Active (green traffic light) status icon or if there was an error/problem with the listing, you will see the Error (red traffic light) status icon.

10.  If you do see any listing errors, you can click into the Amazon listing within the product itself, and the error message from Amazon will display in a banner at the top of the page.  You can manually make any necessary changes in ChannelGrabber, the click the Submit button to try and push it through to Amazon again.  Once the listing goes through successfully, this will be confirmed in ChannelGrabber and the icon will change from Error to Active after 15 minutes or so.
