When you are listing to eBay via ChannelGrabber, we strongly recommend to follow the detailed steps in our Listing a Product to eBay guide to minimise the chance of receiving listing errors back from eBay.  If you do receive an error, this guide should help to identify the most common issues and solutions.

ChannelGrabber will display a red error symbol in the listing status on the main Products page and within the Listings tab of a product if we receive an error message from eBay when you submit or revise a listing.

To check and correct the error, click onto the product title from the main Products page, navigate to the Listings tab from the left hand column, then on the eBay listing profile line, click the Edit button on the far right to enter the listing profile and view the error message, which will be displayed in a grey banner at the top of the page.  As well as Errors you may also receive "Warnings" - these are usually just advisory and will not actually stop the item being listed, but it is worth checking them to make sure that your listing will behave as you expect once submitted to eBay.

Error Message

Update Stock Error:  We are not able to update stock on this listing. Please revise this listing manually or delete and reimport it

Cause of Error

ChannelGrabber has tried to perform a stock update but there is a problem with connecting with the eBay ItemID, so no stock update has been sent to eBay

Solution

Please edit the listing and click on the Revise button at the top of the eBay listing profile (only if it says Revise at the top) or delete the listing and re-import it (see Importing Existing Listings From Your Marketplaces guide) to re-link it in ChannelGrabber.  If you re-import the listing, you will need to make sure you have submitted a stock update within ChannelGrabber to make sure that an accurate stock level has been pushed out to eBay.

Error Message

17:  This item cannot be accessed because the listing has been deleted, is a Half.com listing, or you are not the seller.

Cause of Error

The listing has been ended on eBay, or the item ID associated with the listing in ChannelGrabber no longer exists on eBay (this happens when a listing has been inactive for longer than 90 days) so it is not possible to make revisions to it

Solution

A new listing for the item will need to be submitted. The easiest way of doing this is do 'Duplicate' the problematic listing inside the Listings tab and submit the duplicated one instead (see Duplicate a Listing guide) then delete the ended listing from the Listings tab once the new listing has gone live.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

291:  You are not allowed to revise ended listings.

Cause of Error

The listing has been ended on eBay, so it is not possible to make revisions to it

21919137:  Buyers love large photos that clearly show the item, so please upload high-resolution photos that are at least 500 pixels on the longest side

21919136:  Add at least 1 photo. More photos are better! Show off your item from every angle and zoom in on details.

Cause of Error

The images that have been uploaded/selected for the eBay listing are below eBay's minimum quality specification, or a Primary Image has not been selected for the listing before submitting it

Solution

Check the image properties for the images you have uploaded into ChannelGrabber.  If they are less than 500 pixels on the longest side, then they are too small.  You will need to remove the original images, re-scale them to be bigger than 500 pixels on the longest side, then re-upload them into ChannelGrabber again.  Please ensure you have specified the Primary Image and any Secondary Images from within the Images tab in the eBay listing profile, then try and re-submit the listing to eBay.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

240:  The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

Cause of Error

The eBay account or eBay listing has a problem which violates an eBay policy. This must be addressed before the listing can be listed.

Solution

Look out for an error message on this listing starting with "0:". This tells you precisely what policy you are violating and what you need to correct. If you cannot find this, please submit the listing again and it should come up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

21919303:  The item specific Brand is missing. Add Brand to this listing, enter a valid value, and then try again.

Cause of Error

A Brand has not been entered for your item.  Many categories on eBay now require this to be completed before a listing can be successfully submitted.

Solution

Look for the Item Specifics section on the right hand side of the eBay listing profile on the Information tab.  There should be a field labelled Brand, so simply enter the Brand in this field then re-submit the listing.  If you do not have a Brand for the item, then please use "Unbranded".

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

21919303:  The item specific MPN is missing. Add MPN to this listing, enter a valid value, and then try again.

21919303:  The item specific Manufacturer Part Number is missing. Add Manufacturer Part Number to this listing, enter a valid value, and then try again.

Cause of Error

An MPN or Manufacturer Part Number has not been entered for your item.  Many categories on eBay now require this to be completed before a listing can be successfully submitted.

Solution

Look for the Item Specifics section on the right hand side of the eBay listing profile on the Information tab.  There should be a field labelled MPN or Manufacturer Part Number, so simply enter your MPN in this field then re-submit the listing.  If you do not have an MPN for the item, then please enter "Does not apply".

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

21919301:  EAN is missing a value. Enter a value and try again.

21919301:  UPC is missing a value. Enter a value and try again.

Cause of Error

An EAN or UPC (barcode) has not been entered for your item.  Most categories on eBay now require this to be completed before a listing can be successfully submitted.

Solution

In the Information tab within the eBay listing profile there should be a Barcode field and a tick box next to the statement "Does not apply".  If you have a barcode, enter it in the Barcode field.  If you have variations on your item, then leave the main Barcode field empty and add the barcodes within the Variations tab in the eBay listing profile.  If you do not have any barcodes, simply tick the "Does not apply" box and this will work for single and variation products.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

21805:  You must offer a maximum handling time of 1 business day to use Get It Fast.

Cause of Error

A number higher than 1 has been selected for the Dispatch Days option.  This contradicts the Get It Fast option, which requires that the item will be dispatched within 1 business day.

Solution

To use the Get It Fast option, the Dispatch Days must be 1 or 0 (zero equates to Same Day Dispatch), so please check the Shipping tab within the eBay listing profile and adjust your Dispatch Days accordingly, or un-tick the Get It Fast option on the Misc tab if you cannot dispatch within 1 day, then re-submit the listing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

70:  Listing titles are limited to 80 characters

Cause of Error

An eBay title has been entered that is greater than 80 characters (including spaces)

Solution

Please amend the eBay title so that it is 80 characters or fewer, including spaces

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

73:  Please enter a valid price for your item (e.g. GBP 0.99)

Cause of Error

A Buy It Now price has not been entered for the listing, or an incorrect format has been used

Solution

Check the Buy It Now Price field on the main Information tab within the eBay listing profile, and the Price field on the Variations tab if your item has variations, and ensure that you have entered the price in a decimal format, using a full stop and not a comma, eg. 9.99 is correct but 9,99 is incorrect.  You will not need to enter a currency symbol, as the decimal amount that you enter will automatically go through to eBay in the local currency for the eBay Site/Nationality that you have selected (for example, 9.99 to eBay UK would be in GBP, 9.99 for eBay Germany would be in Euros etc.)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error Message

732:  Please provide valid PayPal email address for PayPal payments

21919158: The email address you entered isn't linked to a PayPal account. If you don't have a PayPal account, you'll need to set one up with this address so that buyers can pay you. (You can set up your account after your item sells).

Cause of Error

A valid PayPal email address has not been entered in your ChannelGrabber eBay settings or the email you have entered is not a valid PayPal email address

Solution

Within ChannelGrabber, please go to Settings - Marketplaces - eBay Accounts to enter or correct the PayPal email information and save it, then return to the Products page and re-submit the listing.  If you have not yet set up a PayPal account, you will need to do this and connect it to your eBay account first, then add it to ChannelGrabber, or alternatively, you can select alternative payment options for your buyers to use instead of PayPal in your eBay settings in ChannelGrabber and then apply those to the listing in the Misc tab instead.
