This guide follows on from the process detailed in the "Creating a New Product via Data Exchange" guide, so we advise that you follow that guide first, before using this one.  

Along with this guide you should be able to use this link to download the Products Import and eBay Listing Template (open the Google Sheet then click on "File > Download As" and choose what format you want to download it to your computer in) which we recommend you use to ensure that all the necessary fields are populated in the correct format.  This guide will refer to specific fields in the example template.

If all of the required product data is completed in the spreadsheet (bare minimum: SKU, Title, Quantity and Images) then you can also list to eBay at the same time as creating the products, from the same file, or if the products already exist in ChannelGrabber, you will only need to complete the SKU column and then the eBay columns (not the other product columns).  If you did not add images via your spreadsheet, you will need to manually add the images to the products in ChannelGrabber before you can list to eBay using the Data Exchange, as eBay requires at least one image to be able to create a new listing, then you will be able to upload the eBay listing data separately afterwards.

1.  The process is very similar to product creation, although there is a lot more data that is required for the eBay listings to go through to eBay successfully.  In the template file, columns V to BG are all relevant to eBay and the majority are required for successful listings to be generated.  Again, there are notes in the column headers to provide more detail on what each field is for and the format that is required.

 a)  The “eBay Listing Template ID” field (column AJ) is only for if you have an eBay description template set up in ChannelGrabber.  If you do, you can obtain the Template ID within Settings > Templates > eBay Listing Templates, by loading in your template - the Template ID is a four digit code that will be displayed above the Preview Template link), and you can then use the template ID to apply the description design to the listing via the data exchange:

 b)  The “eBay Shipping Template ID” field (column AP) is only for if you have set up shipping templates in ChannelGrabber for eBay, prior to creating your data file (see separate guide on eBay Shipping Templates).  Once you have set up your shipping template(s), you can obtain the shipping template IDs (a four digit code) by following this guide on Exporting Product & Listing Data), and you can then apply the shipping rates in your template to the listings via the data exchange by using the Shipping Template ID(s).  If you do this, you will not need to complete the following shipping columns (AS to BA) as the template will take their place.  If you don’t have/don’t want shipping templates, you can add individual shipping rates for each different domestic and international shipping method in columns AS to BA, and you can add additional shipping methods to the file if you wish, as long as you stick to the same format.

 c)  You can also add additional columns to your file to create Item Specifics for your eBay listing (eg. column BG for “Country/Region of Manufacture”).  The column header will be the Item Specific title, then whatever you populate in the product fields will be the Item Specific content.  Please bear in mind that some Item Specifics fields have a character limit, so it’s best to keep these short and exact.

2.  Once you have completed the eBay listing data in your file, you need to save it in CSV (Comma delimited) format – this is crucial, as ChannelGrabber will not be able to process any files that are not in CSV format.  If you use an Apple Mac, you should use the CSV (Windows format) option.  Please avoid the use of full stops in the filename: 

3.  You can now import the data into ChannelGrabber to create the listings and push them out to eBay.  In ChannelGrabber, hover over the main Products button in the top navigation bar, then select Data Exchange from the sub-menu:

Once in the Data Exchange, click on the Listings tab on the right which will bring you to the Imports page:

4.  Click on Choose File to browse your computer for the CSV file you just saved, then click the Upload button to bring it into ChannelGrabber:

5.  Once your file is uploaded, additional fields will appear, which are for data mapping.  The left hand drop-down menu shows all the column headers from your file and the right hand drop-down menu allows you to map your file header to the corresponding field in ChannelGrabber.  This is how ChannelGrabber knows which fields to populate from your data.  If you have previously created the mapping for your Product Data, you can start a new template for your eBay data, or if you are uploading the product creation and eBay listing data together, you can add the fields to the same data mapping set:

If your column headers from your file match the ChannelGrabber field names, then the data mapping will be done automatically once your file is uploaded.  If you need to add or change fields, then click on the Add Row button near the top left of the page to create as many rows as you need, then map all the headers in your file to the corresponding fields in ChannelGrabber.  The order doesn’t particularly matter, but you may find it helpful to use the same order as in your file, or you can go through alphabetically, it’s up to you:

6.  Once you have set up all the listings data mapping, you can save this as a template to avoid having to repeat this process in future.  On the right side of the page, click the Template button, then name and save your template.  In future, you will be able to click on the Load drop-down menu to load the template you just saved:

7.  Once you have completed your data mapping and saved your template, you are ready to let ChannelGrabber process your data file.  Click the Generate button and ChannelGrabber will start processing your data.  A progress box will appear at the top of the page to show you the total number of rows to be processed and will show how many successful rows have been processed as it goes along:

8.  Once the Data Exchange has finished processing your file, you can return to your main Products page and view the listings that have been created.  If they have gone through successfully to eBay, they will be marked with the Active (green tick) icon or if there was an error/problem with the listing, you will see the Error (red cross) icon:

9.  If you do see any listing errors, you can click into the eBay listing within the product itself, and the error message from eBay will display in a banner at the top of the page.  You can manually make any necessary changes in ChannelGrabber, the click the Submit button to try and push it through to eBay again.  Once the listing goes through successfully, this will be confirmed in ChannelGrabber and the icon will change from Error to Active.
