Introduction

ChannelGrabber offers an integration with Amazon’s FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) service, which can allow you to import FBA listings into ChannelGrabber, import FBA stock levels (updated automatically when a change is made on Amazon directly) and import FBA orders.

You can also choose to have orders from other marketplaces such as eBay and webstores, fulfilled by Amazon via ChannelGrabber too, and ChannelGrabber can share FBA stock levels with your marketplaces to allow one common stock pool to feed out to all channels.

Depending on which ChannelGrabber package you are subscribed to, the FBA module usually costs an extra £30+VAT per month, but is free for Premier account holders.

Adding FBA to Your Package

Unlike some of our other "self-service" modules, the FBA setup is a little more in-depth, so the Support Team are keen to help with FBA integrations, just to make sure they are set up 100% correctly.

In the first instance, please email support@channelgrabber.com requesting to have the FBA Integration added to your ChannelGrabber Classic account.

The Support Team will then set this up for you and inform you (and our Billing Team, where applicable) once it's ready to use.

Listing to FBA

Any new products that you are booking onto FBA still need to be created on Amazon directly, then imported into ChannelGrabber (see Importing Existing Listings From Your Marketplaces guide).  If you are selling the same item on other marketplaces, then you should make sure that the same SKU is used on all channels, so that ChannelGrabber knows that the products are the same and can match them up when imported.

If the SKUs do not match between FBA and the other channels, then FBA stock will not be shared and you will not be able to forward orders from the other channels to FBA for shipping.

Important Note

If you have an existing merchant listing on Amazon that has previously been imported/created in ChannelGrabber, then you will need to convert it to an FBA product on Amazon directly, and then delete it from the main Products page in ChannelGrabber and re-import it, so that ChannelGrabber can break the connection with the merchant listing and create a connection to the FBA listing for that product.

If you do not do this, then you may end up with stock discrepancies, as ChannelGrabber will still think that you have a merchant listing on Amazon and will send stock feeds to it.

Sharing FBA Stock With Other Marketplaces

Once your FBA integration is set up in ChannelGrabber, you will gain two extra stock location columns on your main Products page:  one for Merchant Stock and one for FBA Stock.

The Merchant column is editable, and allows you to manually update stock levels for items that you hold stock for/dispatch yourself.  The FBA column is not editable, and will automatically pull stock levels from Amazon.  The QTY column will display the combined total of Merchant and FBA stock, allowing you to hold stock of an item yourself as well as in FBA, but send the combined total stock level out to your non-FBA channels, such as eBay and webstores, for the same product (as long as the SKUs match across all channels for the same item).

It is always the total QTY value that is sent out to your non-FBA marketplaces.

For example: FBA (10) + Merchant (5) = QTY (15)  or  FBA (10) + Merchant (0) = QTY (10):

Sending Marketplace Orders to FBA

As long as the SKU on the marketplace is the same as the SKU on FBA, then you can choose to forward marketplace orders to FBA for shipping (please be aware that Amazon do charge more for marketplace fulfilment than they do for Amazon fulfilment, so you may want to build this into your marketplace/shipping prices).

When processing your orders, select the orders that you wish to send to FBA by using the tick boxes to the left of each order (if you are new to ChannelGrabber, please see the Processing Orders guide for more detail on this topic first), then selecting the “Fulfilment By Amazon” option in the Bulk Actions menu, then clicking the Go button:

Your order status will then change to “New (FBA)” to show that you have submitted a new order to FBA:

Once FBA start to process the order, the status in ChannelGrabber will automatically update to “Dispatch Pending (FBA)”:

Once FBA have dispatched the order, the status in ChannelGrabber will automatically update to “Dispatched (FBA)”:

FBA Order Errors

You may occasionally find that there is a problem with sending a marketplace order to FBA.  The most common issues are:

  • there is not enough stock in FBA to complete the order

  • the SKU on your marketplace does not match the FBA SKU

  • The postcode is not valid or in a recognisable format (you can usually edit this within the order in ChannelGrabber and then re-submit to FBA)

If this happens, the status in ChannelGrabber will change to “Error (FBA)” and if you hover over the Error status, a pop-up message will tell you what the error is:

You may find that you then need to book the order onto FBA directly if the error cannot be corrected in ChannelGrabber.  If this is the case, then you can click on the “Order ID / Product Information” section for the order to access the detailed order breakdown, and on the top right you will see a Remove Error button.  Simply click this to return the order to a normal merchant order in ChannelGrabber, then you can mark it as dispatched yourself in ChannelGrabber once you have booked it on to FBA and they have successfully processed it, or you can process and dispatch it yourself in ChannelGrabber if you have merchant stock available:

Map Shipping for FBA

When sending marketplace orders to FBA, you will need to tell ChannelGrabber which of the FBA shipping methods to use for each different shipping option on your other marketplaces, for example, if you use Royal Mail Second Class for low value items on eBay, then you will probably want FBA to send this as their “Standard” shipping service, but Royal Mail First Class could be mapped to Amazon’s “Expedited” service etc.

Before you can map FBA shipping methods, you will need to complete the Map Shipping settings for your other marketplaces first (please see our Map Shipping Methods guide if you have not previously completed this step).

Once your marketplace shipping methods are all mapped, navigate to Settings > Shipping > Amazon FBA in ChannelGrabber and scroll down to the Shipping Mapping section at the bottom of the page.

The three FBA shipping options are displayed on the left, as well as a “Default” section.  All you need to do, is select your marketplace shipping methods from the right hand side (if you want to map more than one method then hold down the “Ctrl” key on your keyboard and then click all the different options you want to select), next to the FBA methods you want them to be associated with, and then set a default option to use in case a new shipping method comes in from your marketplaces that has not previously been mapped.  Once you have selected all options, click the Save button at the bottom left of the section:
